Detectable
leaks |
|
To quantify a leak, one is accustomed
to compare them to a equivalent hole
diameter, by which air would pass
like the observed leakage.
With this reference, one can consider
the minimal detectable threshold of
airthightness test by pressure
decay, with an equivalent diameter
about 10 microns.
But this detectable leak diameter
is related to the allocated search
time (but not in a linear way);
to detect a diameter of hole 2 times smaller, about 4 times
more time is needed. |
Nondestructive
tests |
|
The leak test by pressure decay, realized
on all Coprosud machines, is nondestructive.
It is appropriate consequently as
well for test at 100%, as with sampling
test with reintroduction of verified
product, in production line .

Liquid
contents |
The
leak test by pressure decay cannot detect
an air leak through a wall in contact
with liquid (the liquid "conceals" the
air leak).
The test of containers with liquid is
possible, but is limited to the not
immersed zones (case of testers T1VE-S
"Leak Tracker") |
Gas
type in the tested bags |
The
leak test of sealed sachets does not
impose any type of gas, contrary to
testers based on precise gas tracers.
Test is adapted as well to packaging
with ambient air as under modified atmosphere
(see "flexible
Package" testers) |
Industrial

test programs are adjustable to adapt
test cycle temporizations
and options of these programs to various

Checking
the reliability of leak test cycle |
The
simplest method is to test a container
which is "typically" leaking.
This container type is not always easy
to preserve (in particular, filled
bottles); Coprosud then provides
a GOOD "standard" and a BAD "standard"
allowing a checking of controls (for
example at the beginning of production
day).
The
Self-calibration
option allows an automatic checking
routine of the testers on line. |
CALIBRATION
Mode |
| This
mode is used to determine times of
optimal pressurization and leak research
for a new container type.
The calibration cycles are made by
using nonleaking containers and thus,
representative of normal production,
being used as reference. |
Time
to use leak testers correctly |
| The
leak testing machines Coprosud require
only a few minutes using by the operators.
Their displays are simple and convivial
(industrial objective).
Complementary
functionalities (in particular for
the supervisory staff) are accessible
with the
Xrecord software. |
Sensors
maintenance |
The
sensors used in pressure decay measurement
are piezo-ceramics type (no movement).
Thus, they do not require any maintenance.

Delivery
period |
The
"catalogue" machines are available under
4 to 8 weeks, according to configuration.
For the "custom" machines,
it is necessary to add at this time,
a period for validation tests on customers
